Outsourcing E-commerce Builds
Why agencies outsource e-commerce development, what an online shop project involves and how to help clients sell more online.
2 min read
A new online shop, or a rebuild of one they already have, on Shopify or WooCommerce. Your client gets a shop people can buy from, and they can add products afterwards.
You keep the relationship. We never email or call your client. The shop helps people find a product, understand it, and pay.
Someone can find a product, add it to the basket, and pay, on a phone or a computer.
The products in the brief are on the shop: titles, prices, images, and the variants you sent.
We connect the payment and shipping accounts you give us, and we place a test order before handover.
The shop uses their colours, logo, and the pages you asked for, so it sits with the rest of their business.
They can add products, change prices, and update text without a new build.
How it runs
You are involved at every step, and before we send the shop back to you, the quality check is done in Europe.
Revisions

Three rounds while we design, and three rounds while we build. You can change text, images, product pages, and sections in those rounds.
Book a callShops slip when the brief, the login, or the product files arrive late. This is the split.
| Task | Your agency | |
|---|---|---|
| We keep the schedule: the tasks, the deadlines, and a message when a step is done. | ||
| We design the shop, then build the design you approved on Shopify or WooCommerce. | ||
| We put the products from the brief on the shop, including the titles, prices, images, and variants you sent. | ||
| We connect the payment and shipping accounts you give us, using the rates you set. | ||
| We place a test order and check that a customer can pay. | ||
| We check the shop in Europe before launch: people can use it, it works on the devices we agreed, and it loads properly. | ||
| We have regular calls with you, so you always know where things stand. | ||
| If the brief changes, we write it down and send a new quote and timeline before we do the extra work. | ||
| We do a last check after the shop is on the live store. | ||
| A filled-in brief: what the shop must do, Shopify or WooCommerce, and the date you need it. | ||
| The store login at the start. If it arrives late, we cannot test checkout until the end. | ||
| Product list within two weeks: titles, prices, images, and variants. | ||
| The payment account and the shipping account, and the rates you want to charge. | ||
| The legal text: terms, privacy, and returns. If you want us to write product descriptions, order website copy separately. | ||
| Logos and brand files. A new logo or a new brand is a separate job. | ||
| Your feedback on the dates we agree. | ||
| Someone from your team on the calls. If a decision waits, the shop waits. |

Every change goes into a shared spreadsheet you can open from the first day. Add a screenshot when that makes the change clearer. If you mention a change on a call and forget to write it down, we add it and ask you to confirm it.
A senior person checks the shop before we send it back, including a test order. You then show it to your client. If you approve it on time, we stay on schedule.
Extra products, a different platform, or an app that was not in the brief gets written down. We send a new quote and a new timeline before that work starts. You can accept it, or we keep the original brief.
It is usually better to finish the shop we agreed, and add the extra afterwards as its own job. If they want a different shop altogether, we price it again and set a new timeline. You choose whether to go ahead or stay with the original plan.

We split the invoice into three monthly payments. The first one goes out when the project starts.
If we have the brief, the login, and the product files on time, the shop is usually ready in six to eight weeks. That is often before the last invoice.
